Joe Pullin: A Journey Through Music, Collaboration, and Creativity
Recording at Abbey Road Studios

Few artists get the chance to record at one of the most iconic studios in the world — Abbey Road in London. Joe Pullin not only recorded several songs there but also filmed a music video for his song “I Will Wait for You.” The London Symphony Orchestra played on the track, joined by rock legends Peter Frampton and John Oates of Hall & Oates.

During his time at Abbey Road, Joe developed close friendships with the studio manager and the engineering team, who admired his professionalism and creative energy. In one memorable session, Joe was recording in Studio 2 while Paul McCartney was working across the hall in Studio 3 — the same room famously known as the “Pink Floyd Studio.”

Sessions at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio

"Joe’s musical journey continued at another legendary recording destination — Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama. There, the famed Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section played on six of his songs. While recording a rendition of “She Loves You” by The Beatles, Joe reached out to Peter Frampton, who invited him to his Nashville home studio. Frampton added guitar parts to both “She Loves You” and “I Will Wait for You,” blending his signature sound with Joe’s soulful rock style."

Writing and Producing for The Flaming Ember

Joe recorded five songs that he wrote and produced for The Flaming Ember, three of which he co-wrote with John Oates. The Flaming Ember, a Detroit-based band, features Jerry Plunk as the lead singer and Jim Bugnel on bass. The band had several hits, including the well-known "Mind, Body, and Soul." Joe hopes that the songs he wrote for the group will also become hits in their own right.

Exploring Country Sounds in Nashville

Though best known for his rock and R&B roots, Joe has also explored country music during his time in Nashville. Working with some of the city’s top studio musicians — the same players who appear on countless chart-topping hits — he recorded several new country-style tracks. Joe embraced the genre’s storytelling and authenticity, broadening his creative horizons while staying true to his musical soul.

Olympic Studios and a Chance Encounter with Jimmy Page

At London’s Olympic Studios, Joe recorded several tracks featuring Zack Starkey — drummer for The Who and son of Ringo Starr — as well as Paul McCartney’s longtime keyboardist Wix Wickens. During a break, while relaxing in the lounge, Joe noticed someone sit beside him. It turned out to be Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. What followed was an unforgettable conversation between two artists who share a deep love for music and its craft.

Leadership at Harman International

Beyond performing and recording, Joe also made a significant impact in the business side of music. As Vice President of Global Marketing at Harman International, he helped shape the brand strategy for some of the world’s most respected audio brands. Joe led major initiatives including a global sponsorship between Mercedes-Benz, Harman Kardon, and The Rolling Stones, and negotiated Harman’s position as the official sound partner of the GRAMMY Awards. These partnerships brought extraordinary visibility and credibility to the company, aligning Harman’s brands with music’s biggest names and moments.
